The first casino built on the block, The Flamingo
has anchored the Strip since the dice started rolling back in
1946. Founded by the infamous Bugsy Siegel, this hotel casino has
been completely renovated, and began the era of mega-resorts that
now populates Las Vegas' "All American Road." Positioned just
four miles from Mccarran International Airport, the Flamingo is
convenient to many popular attractions, including Madame
Tussaud's Wax Museum, the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum and the Las
Vegas Convention Center.
The 77,000-square-foot casino offers the quintessential Vegas
experience, a variety of table games, 2,100 slots, and four
shows, including Gladys Knight appearing in her own theater. For
a genuinely soothing afternoon occasion, guests can retreat to
the Flamingo's pool area - said to be the largest in Vegas. The
15-acre gardens is punctuated by a 150-foot water slide and
breezy palm trees that tower about waterfalls, lagoon pools, and
a meticulously groomed landscape inhabited by African penguins
and Chilean Flamingos. The five pools are augmented with two spa
tubs, wet bars and a seasonal poolside restaurant. Attracting
guests with an impressive menu of lobster, prime rib and roasted
chicken, the hotel's showcase Flamingo Room is virtually a rite
of passage among Las Vegas aficionados. Other property amenities
include banquet facilities, conference rooms, currency exchange,
a fitness center, a business center and a full-service health
spa.
The guestrooms are intimately arranged with spacious furniture
ensembles, contemporary interior designs and massive windows that
lend romantic views of Las Vegas metropolitan charm. Standard
guestrooms come equipped with arm chairs, couches and business
desks, and include private amenities such as satellite
television, Internet access, in-room safes and voicemail. With
the sophistication of modern conveniences in conjunction with the
undisputed mystique of an original casino hotel, each of the
Flamingo's 3,500 guestrooms serve as a launch pad for exciting
and memorable days in Las Vegas.
